Unfortunately we ended up with a very much unexperienced taxi driver who understood “Buddha Nagar” instead of Happy of having made a decision we wanted to enjoy the Boudhanath stupa (a veryīig Buddha Temple in Kathmandu) for the last time and hopped into a taxi. This entire process of drinking – thinking – deciding took us 3 days and cost us at least 10’000’000 nerve cords. To give the journey of 5hours to the west followed by 10 hours to the east a little bit more sense. As most Etihad flights go through Abu Dabhi we decided to stay there for a couple of days Influenced by the fact, that our favorite airline, Etihad, offered one of the cheapest flights to Seoul. We can’t remember how and why but we finally made South Korea our next destination. Mainly two factors: prices of flight tickets and weather situation. Our list of ideas became longer and longer – including destination like Alaska, Hawaii, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Japan… It was then shortened again by Being really disappointed and now very aimless, we decided to drown our frustration in beer… Several glasses and many many hours of internet research later theįrustration slowly turned into a few new ideas. Many things we already had in mind before even leaving Germany, we were very much upset to hear from our travel agent, that China did unexpectedly close all the borders of Tibet for tourists –
After really having enjoyed India and its fabulous culture we were still very happy to return to Kathmandu as we were so much looking forward to our scheduled Tibet trip.
